Mission


The mission of the Electron Microscopy Unit is to provide quality undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate/post-doctoral education and training, basic and applied research of international standard and excellence in patient-care.


Objectives


  1. To provide modern, up-to-date EM facilities to academic staff and their students to support basic and medical research, education and clinical diagnostic service.
  2. Train academic staff on utilization and incorporation of TEM and SEM analysis in research work.
  3. Train technical staff on operation of EM equipment and tissue preparation methods for EM scanning.
  4. Bridge the gap between electron microscopic research and cutting edge molecular research.
  5. Assist Master’s, Doctoral students and Post-doctoral fellows from different faculties of Health Sciences Centre in their courses and theses.
