A stock of general use electronic components is important and necessary for servicing of existing instrumentation and for designing of new instruments, especially to the needs of teaching and research programs. Such a stock needs continuous replenishment and updating with new components.
Taking over the maintenance of some instruments from local companies bring savings to the university but causes loses to companies, who consequently are reluctant to cooperate. It would greatly improve efficiency of instruments utilization (financial savings, better maintenance) to request simultaneously with the purchase order for the new equipment:
