The English Language Unit of the Kuwait University Health Sciences Center provides students with the linguistic and scholarly tools they will need for further study and for their future careers as health-care professionals. The Unit annually serves around four hundred students in the Faculties of Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health and Faculty of Allied Health.
The English Language Unit presents three one-semester courses that focus strongly on the specialized vocabulary, linguistic notions and functions, and rhetorical forms that are appropriate to the health sciences. The curriculum undergoes periodic revision and updating to ensure educational excellence.
