Case Report Award
Eligibility:
Dr. Nael Al-Naqeeb Award for Undergraduate Research
Eligibility includes undergraduate students from the Health Sciences Center (HSC) at Kuwait University, as well as students from medical, dental and related health sciences schools in neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Medical students in the clinical years are eligible.
Students who graduated within the 12 months preceding the conference date are eligible.
The student must be the first author of the abstract.
Supervisor(s) should be listed as co-author(s) in the abstract.
Graduate Research Award for Master Program
Students currently enrolled in M.Sc. programs at the Health Sciences Center or those who have graduated within the 12 months preceding the conference date are eligible.
The Master’s student must be the first author of the abstract.
Supervisor(s) should be listed as co-author(s) in the abstract.
Abstracts must be derived from the Master’s student’s thesis work.
Graduate Research Award for PhD Program
Students currently enrolled in Ph.D. programs at the Health Sciences Center or those who have graduated within the 12 months preceding the conference date are eligible.
The Ph.D. student must be the first author of the abstract.
Supervisor(s) should be listed as co-author(s) in the abstract.
Abstracts must be derived from the Ph.D. student’s thesis work.
Graduate Research Award for Medical Residents
The applicant/first author must be currently a medical resident in good standing at the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specializations or have graduated within the 12 months preceding the conference date.
The medical resident must be the first author of the abstract.
Researcher Award for Basic Sciences
The applicant/first author can be any of the following: Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or non-academic staff member currently working at the Health Sciences Center, Kuwait University.
Non-academic staff include: Teaching Assistant, Research Associate, Research Assistant, and Technical Staff.
The applicant must be the first author of the abstract.
Researcher Award for Clinical Sciences
The applicant/first author can be any of the following: Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or non-academic staff member currently working at the Health Sciences Center, Kuwait University.
Non-academic staff include: Teaching Assistant, Research Associate, Research Assistant, and Technical Staff.
The applicant must be the first author of the abstract.
Case Report Award
The applicant/first author may be a student, medical resident in training, academic staff member at Kuwait University, or a physician at the Ministry of Health, Kuwait.

Select the appropriate award category in the online submission form.
Submit a
declaration form
signed by all co-authors along with a copy of your Civil ID to
poster.hsc@ku.edu.kw
. Without a signed declaration letter, abstracts will not be considered for any award.
Upon confirmation of acceptance, submit a PDF copy of your poster for judging to
poster.hsc@ku.edu.kw
. The submitted PDF must match the actual poster that will be presented at the conference. If there are discrepancies, the poster will be disqualified. The judging committee will not consider posters submitted after the deadline

General Guidelines:
When submitting your abstract online, follow the instructions provided in the
online form
regarding the abstract title, authors’ names, affiliations, abstract body, and funding agency.
The applicant for the award must be both the first and corresponding author of the abstract and is responsible for presenting the poster at the conference.
All authors must have made significant contributions to the research work presented.
Supervisor(s) should be listed as co-author(s) in the abstract.
At least 50% of the work presented in the abstract/poster should have been completed in Kuwait (for applicants from Kuwait). Collaborations with overseas universities are permitted.
The research must be conducted after obtaining appropriate ethical approval from the Ministry of Health (MOH), College of Medicine/Kuwait University, or other regulatory bodies. Abstracts describing experiments unapproved by the ethical committee/s will not be considered for any award.
Select winners may be asked to deliver an oral presentation lasting 10-15 minutes at the conference. This responsibility falls to the first author.
