Mission

The English Language Unit of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is committed to providing high quality, context based English Language instruction to its students. The aim of the ELU is to develop language and academic skills that students need for their academic, professional, and personal achievement.

Objective

The ELU aims to:

1. Develop, monitor, evaluate, review, and maintain a curriculum of language instruction to prepare students for their academic and professional studies in English.
2. Liaise with the faculty departments in order to provide the optimal learning environment for educational study for baccalaureate students to achieve competency in their academic and professional courses.
3. Recruit and hire well-qualified teaching staff, according to the Kuwait University appointment criteria, who are experienced in curriculum development and teaching language courses for non-native speakers of English.
4. Foster professional attitudes, values, and a sense of professional responsibility in students.
5. Promote the ability to interact and communicate appropriately with other, particularly the health care team.
