The vision of the Occupational Therapy Department, Kuwait University, is to be an internationally recognized academic and professional program which contributes to knowledge and to health care and services in the local community.

Mission

The Occupational Therapy Department is committed to excellence in education and research. By fostering an environment rich in theory, research, critical thinking, collaboration, and professional development, the occupational therapy program prepares professional, competent, and innovative occupational therapists who are prepared to meet the changing demands of societal health and an evolving healthcare service environment.

Purpose

The Occupational Therapy Department is committed to the following aims:

1. To exemplify the highest standards of quality in teaching, research, and service.
2. To educate competent occupational therapists who serve diverse populations in varied settings, function as master practitioners, and who are active collaborators in the research process, educators, and promoters of occupational therapy.
3. To develop professionals who are able to communicate, understand, and apply the art and science of occupational therapy and have a commitment to lifelong learning.
4. To engage in scholarly work and participate in scientific inquiry.
5. To provide relevant and meaningful community service and continuing professional education to occupational therapists and other allied health professions.
