Mission

The hearing & Speech Sciences Department at Kuwait University is committed to excellence in Audiology and speech language pathology education and research. By fostering an environment rich in theory, research, critical thinking, collaboration, and professional development, the Hearing and Speech program will prepare professionals who are competent and innovative Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists who are prepared to meet the changing demands of societal health and an evolving healthcare service environment.

Objectives

The key objectives, therefore, are:

1. To exemplify the highest standards of quality in teaching, training, research, and service.
2. To educate and train competent audiologists and speech-language pathologists who serve a diverse population in varied settings, function as master practitioners, and who actively collaborate in the research process, educators, and promoters of audiology & speech language pathology.
   
3. To develop professionals who are able to communicate, understand, and apply the art and science of audiology & speech language pathology and have a commitment to lifelong learning.
4. To participate in scientific inquiry and to contribute to the body of knowledge in audiology & speech language pathology.
   
5. To provide relevant and meaningful community service and continuing professional education to audiologists and other allied health professions.
   
6. To demonstrate leadership within the profession.
