Competencies and Transferrable Skills

The BSHCS program will develop knowledge, attitudes and skills which address all levels of the above framework, and will cut across two major dimensions:

1. Competencies for functioning in public health, healthcare, and community-based organizations; and health-related positions in public or private companies.
2. A set of concrete transferrable skills and graduate attributes which can make graduates attractive to any organization – public or private, including:

Information technology Numeracy Good communication skills Problem solving Organising Working to deadlines

Management and leadership Negotiating Motivating people Making decisions Research skills
