Nucleic AcidsNuclei acids control the processes of heredity by which cells and organisms reproduce proteins. A molecule of a nuclei acid consists of a long chain of units called nucleotides. The type, location, and sequencing of the nucleotides governs the biological activity of the nucleic acid. Each nucleotide has a phosphate group, a pentose sugar, and a nitrogen base. |
