Elbaite

Elbaite is assigned the general formula Na(Li,Al)₃Al₆(BO₃)₃Si₆O₁₈(OH)₄. This sample is from Onjamabonoino, Madagascar and is on display in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. It is a silicate which has lithium content, lithium being a rather rare element.
