Message from the Vice Dean for Research, Training and Consultation.

Welcome to the 6th Student Research Day of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences of the Kuwait university. Research is the driving force of any academic institution. The Student Research Day is a day for the students and faculty to meet and discuss the outcome of the various research projects undertaken during the year. I am privileged to state that our students have embraced a wide range of research activities and the success of the past five years reflects the intensive nature of the research carried out by the undergraduates and graduate students at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and the commitment and support of the many Faculty members as well as the Medical Laboratory Scientists who mentor and supervise student researchers.

The major mission of the Student Research Day is to recognize and showcase the wide range of research. Furthermore it provides an opportunity for the students and their supervisors to share ideas and knowledge as well as to network and connect with other research-oriented students and faculty in Kuwait University, which may lead to future collaboration.

As evident from the previous student research days, the research activities displayed by the students invariably mirror the Faculty research itself in the breadth of topics covered – spanning huge areas of basic, translational, and clinical research conducted in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.

My sincere wish is that the events of the Student Research Day in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences should promote intellectual curiosity, appreciation of scholarly inquiry, flexibility, openness to new ideas and discoveries, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

I hope that this year, too, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Student Research Day will be successful in providing an ideal platform to foster the development of young researchers who will aid in the advancement of scientific medicine for years to come.

Congratulations to all the participants of the 6th Faculty of Allied Health Sciences SRD, and my sincere thanks to the Dean, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Members of the 6th Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Student Research Day Committee, Faculty members and Support staff at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and the Kuwait University administration who have made this year’s event possible.

Thank you
